THIRD LESSON OF NEW TRAINING COURSE AT CPIA IN BOLOGNA (ITALY)
On MondayFebruary 12 third meeting took place in CPIA. This time we focused on racism and law function with the help of two experts: Annamaria Rivera, anthropologist and researcher of racism, and Nausicaa Turco, volunteer lawyer for strangers in Bologna.
Annamaria Rivera clarified three points: 1. According to modern genetic science, races don’t exist. 2. Racial persecutions were carried out against people very similar to majority too; 3. Racism is a way to instigate contempt against some social groups, coming from the hight of power.
Nausicaa Turco tried to explain the function of law to mediate among different rights by a little tale about some stolen sausages and a hungry thief….
